Head of Working Capital

The post holder is the Trust's subject matter expert on liquidity and cash flow management. They oversee all aspects of working capital on a day-to-day basis, ensuring robust systems and controls are in place to monitor, report on, and safeguard the Trust's liquidity position, to ensure the Trust has sufficient funding to meet its financial commitments.
The post holder manages a department covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and Overseas Visitors. They provide leadership in developing and enhancing systems and processes across these functions to ensure they are fit for purpose and fully compliant with Trust policies and regulations.
Outputs from this department contribute directly to the Trust's financial management reporting, including performance reporting, the Annual Accounts, and statutory and central returns.
Person Specification Qualifications- CCAB/CIMA Qualified
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continued professional development specialist training in treasury management
- Significant management experience in the acute healthcare sector in a role involving responsibility for staff and setting strategic direction
- Experience in managing debtors and creditors to maximise the cash flow position
- Full understanding of the invoicing and reconciliation processes between Acute Healthcare organisations
- Contribution to financial planning, short and long term
- Expert knowledge of the full range of financial accounting processes and procedures
- Excellent IT skills, including ability to create complex modelling spreadsheets
- Able to acquire data from multiple sources, interpret and present conclusions
- Very good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of acute healthcare finance policies guidance
- Understanding of liquidity issues relating to Foundation Trust status
- VAT knowledge

Salary: £66,582 to £77,368 per year plus HCAS
