We have a fantastic opportunity to join Royal London's Commercial team to protect and develop Royal London's mutually valued relationships in the UK financial advice market. This role is key to delivering the Distribution strategy, with a particular focus on identifying and securing new strategic partnerships with intermediaries, national advice businesses and other financial services institutions.
You will inspire, coach, and lead a team of Business Development Directors who jointly have responsibility for developing new emerging relationships. You will be responsible for planning, developing and executing strategies to develop long lasting relationships, through the distribution of Royal London's proposition.
About the role- Ownership of revenue generation and growth ensuring the financial performance targets are delivered for the area.
- Work with strategy, proposition and marketing areas to develop and implement take to market strategies.
- Lead the end to end tender exercise from identifying opportunities through to winning new mandates and opportunities by attending pitches.
- Develop and deliver a strategic plan to unlock new strategic partnerships, both yourself and by leading your team to achieve new business growth. Seek to achieve targeted growth on all products with a view to broaden and deepen our reach to all advisers.
- Attend meetings as the senior Royal London sponsor to develop and maintain strong business relationships through face to face and virtual meetings.
- Exceptional delivery and articulation of Royal London's products, proposition, and services to prospective new adviser relationships.
- Role model senior leadership qualities to inspire, communicate and engage Distribution colleagues.
- Influence senior stakeholders within the business and contribute towards achieving the commercial objectives for Distribution.
- Deep understanding of the competitive landscape to ensure that Royal London remains a 'partner-of-choice' and proactively identify ways to create new relationships.
- Strategic level thinker with a long term outlook.
- Excellent Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices that may come up in field visits with adviser firms.
- Experience of leading a high performing Business Development team in Financial Services on a remote basis.
- Proven ability to lead strategic discussions and to focus on the key challenges facing the business
- Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proven track record of leading remote teams.
