Job overviewThe Head of Service for EMS Coordination has responsibility for the three EMS Coordination Centres across Wales. This is a key leadership role in the Coordination and Integrated Care Department and indeed within the Trust Operations Directorate.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of service delivery of emergency ambulance services in Wales and will contribute to the ambition of the Trust in "Providing the right care and advice in the right place every time".

Main duties of the jobHead of Service, EMS Coordination
If you have senior experience in an emergency service, health care contact centre or control room environment, this role could be right for you.
Working to the Assistant Director of Operations, Coordination and Integrated care, you shall lead a team of Service Managers to provide timely and safe services to those calling 999 in Wales. This area of work is fast paced with a high degree of technology focus to realise and exploit all the benefits to be had. We expect the role to be high profile, internally and externally, so you should be prepared to represent the Trust as required.

Qualifications and Knowledge- Masters level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience working at a senior level in a service delivery environment.
- Leadership and/or Management Qualification Level 5 or equivalent.
- Required to successfully complete the Gold/Strategic qualification post appointment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Senior Management experience in an operational emergency service/healthcare contact centre/control room delivery environment.
- Experience of working in partnership with trade unions/other partners with an understanding of the principles of partnership working.
- Strong evidence of working across sectors/inter agency.
- Experience implementing service improvement plans to include financial and resource accountability.
- Proven ability to translate strategy and plans into operational activity.
- Proven track record in delivering operational and cultural change.
- Ability to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.
- Proven leadership and team working skills.
- Proven ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Ability to manage performance and implement quality systems.
- Proven ability to be resilient under pressure.
- Honest and demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
