️ What You'll Do as a Head of Regulatory and ComplianceWe are seeking an exceptional Head of Regulatory and Compliance to lead Doccla's strategic approach to regulatory affairs and organisational compliance. This is a senior position with a dual focus:
Regulatory Affairs - steering our Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and AI-enabled product portfolio through complex global regulatory landscapes.
Compliance & Legal Governance - ensuring we operate within applicable laws, data protection frameworks, and ethical standards while maintaining strong corporate governance.
This role is central to Doccla's mission to deliver safe, effective, and innovative healthcare solutions. You will report directly to the CFO/COO, manage a high-performing team of 6, and engage with senior stakeholders across the business.
What Experience You'll Bring to the Team
Regulatory AffairsProvide regulatory strategic leadership in management for SaMD, ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory requirements and enabling innovation in regulated software development.
Partner with the Head of RAQA and lead interpretation and implementation of regulatory frameworks including: EU MDR, UK MDR, MHRA guidance on Software as Medical Devices
Oversee creation and maintenance of technical documentation, and regulatory strategies tailored for AI-based medical devices.
Monitor emerging regulatory trends globally and translate them into actionable strategies for business, product, and engineering teams
Take on the role as Person Responsible for Regulatory Compliance (PRRC)
Ensure company-wide compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations across operational jurisdictions.
Own and oversee data protection and privacy compliance, ensuring alignment with GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and other relevant frameworks.
Partner with internal legal resources and external counsel to interpret new legislation, manage regulatory risks, and maintain strong governance practices.
Lead internal compliance audits, incident reporting, and remediation processes.
Champion a culture of ethical operations and proactive risk management.
Act as a strategic partner to the Senior Leadership and translate regulatory complexity into clear and concise recommendations
Liaise with Commercial, Technology, and Operations teams to align product roadmaps with regulatory and compliance obligations.
Represent Doccla in engagements with regulators, auditors, and industry bodies.
10-15 years in senior Regulatory Affairs and Compliance leadership within medical devices or healthcare technology.
Experienced in leading high-performing teams, managing complex submissions, audits, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory engagement.
Skilled communicator with regulators, auditors, and industry bodies.
Proven track record of shaping regulatory and compliance strategy ensuring this is seamlessly embedded as part of the overall company strategy.
Deep expertise in SaMD, AI governance, and global compliance regimes (GDPR and equivalent).
Deep knowledge of key standards and regulations: EU MDR, UK MDR, MHRA guidance.
Visionary leader with a strategic mindset and the ability to inspire cross-functional teams.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Highly detail-oriented without losing sight of strategic priorities.
Resilient and adaptable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
Strong ethical compass with a passion for patient safety and operational excellence.

We're a hybrid team, with offices in London, Denmark, Germany, and Stockholm. Some roles are fully remote, depending on the team and responsibilities.
