Overview

Head of Project Development (Solar, Onshore Wind, BESS)

Scotland Office Locations - 3 Days in Office, Hybrid Working Pattern

Salary Depending on Candidate Experience + Bonus & Wider Benefits

Piper Maddox are partnering with a leading player in the renewable energy sector who have been a mainstay in the UK market for many years. Our client is a fully fledged independent power producer, taking projects from inception, through development & construction, and into eventual operation. Technology-wise, they have a mixed portfolio of Wind, Solar, and BESS assets.

Within the current uncertainty around grid connections and the Gate2 process, this company is able to offer excellent stability both in terms of funding as well as the status of their portfolio. They received very positive Gate2 notifications, but due to their stature in the market, they are also taking longer term views into the wider portfolio.

They are currently looking to add an experienced industry leader to come onboard as their Head of Project Development for the UK team. This position will play a key role in this company's plans going forward and will sit on their established senior leadership team who cover the full project lifecycle from end to end.

Responsibilities
  • Managing large scale renewable energy projects from early development stages, through to the handover to construction/delivery.
  • Focusing on securing full planning and environmental consents for TCPA & NSIP level schemes.
  • Providing strategic leadership and oversight into project and portfolio stability including financial/budgetary matters, key investment decisions, and commercial considerations.
  • Direct team leadership and management, overseeing a full development team encompassing land, planning, grid, and engineering professionals. Prior experience in team leadership is needed.

This role would be an excellent opportunity for a strong leader in the UK renewable energy sector to take the helm of a hugely collaborative and interactive team, driving forward one of the strongest portfolios in the current industry.

If you have a demonstrable track record in leading development teams and pipelines, I would be keen to hear from you.
