Head of Product Design

As Head of Product Design at Tacto, you will be responsible for building a world-class design organization that stands as a core pillar of our success as we scale. This isn't just a leadership role - it's an opportunity to shape our entire design culture while remaining hands on with critical product initiatives. You'll lead our talented design team in transforming complex supply chain challenges into intuitive experiences that create measurable business value for industrial Mittelstand companies across Europe. With design firmly positioned as an equal partner to product, you'll own how we solve problems - not just what they look like. Your work will directly impact how the backbone of the European economy manages their supply chains, handling billions in purchasing volume through interfaces you and your team craft.

• Lead and mentor a team of Product Designers, guiding them in delivering world class B2B SaaS product design.

• Remain hands on in design execution for strategic initiatives.

• Deeply understand our customers, their pain points, and the key tasks involved in their day to day business. You'll ensure we're simplifying complexity at every opportunity.

• Mentor and develop top design talent to grow a high performing team.

• Break down complex problems and work closely with product management and engineering to define clear design specifications. You'll own the "how" of our solutions while partnering with Product on the "what".

• Create scalable design frameworks and decision making processes that enable consistent quality and efficiency as we grow. You'll establish clear methodologies for research, ideation, execution, and measurement.

• Align the product development process around strategic goals and relevant KPIs, and have a direct impact on the product roadmap.

• Foster a customer centric, design driven culture within the organization.

• Become AI Native: Proactively identify opportunities to leverage AI to accelerate the work of your team, experiment with new approaches, and share successful workflows - contributing to Tacto's culture of high velocity execution and innovation.

• At least 2+ years in Design leadership roles, while maintaining a hands on approach to execution

• Experience scaling a Design team, ideally from its inception to a robust, multi faced team

• You've worked in a top tier product design organization and know what design excellence looks like at scale

• You excel at simplifying complexity and creating intuitive solutions for challenging workflows

• You're an expert with modern design tools, particularly Figma, with a portfolio demonstrating exceptional B2B product design

• You're a decisive, principled decision maker who can articulate design choices clearly to stakeholders

• You thrive in fast paced, high growth environments and have experience in early stage companies

• You have excellent communication skills in English (German proficiency is a significant plus)
