Head of Procurement

Brewer Morris is exclusively retained by a globally respected, professional services and technology firm, in the search for a commercially astute and transformation-focused Head of Procurement & Vendor Management. This is a UK-based role with global oversight, reporting directly into the global CFO.

The role will require an individual comfortable managing internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization. They should also be familiar with relationships for multiple vendors, particularly in technology. Managing a large spend. This individual will be managing a global team of 20+ FTEs. The function will require some change and transformation so finding someone who can assess the current business, outline a strategic plan for improvement and define what best practice should be, then work to implement this is essential.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting and executing the global procurement and vendor management strategy, leading a high-performing team across multiple regions. The role spans sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor performance, and contingent workforce planning, with a strong emphasis on process transformation, cost optimisation, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and deliver a global procurement and vendor strategy that aligns with the organisation's long-term goals.
• Lead transformation initiatives to modernise procurement operations, embed best practices, and drive measurable efficiencies.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with key technology and professional services vendors, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Implement and optimise a Vendor Management System (VMS) to centralise vendor oversight and improve performance tracking.
• Oversee global contingent workforce planning, partnering with HR and Legal to ensure agility, compliance, and cost control.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the executive team, providing data-driven insights and commercial recommendations.
• Lead, coach, and develop a global team across procurement, vendor management, and workforce planning.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a senior procurement leader with a proven track record of transformation in complex, global environments. The ideal candidate will bring:

• 15+ years' experience in procurement and vendor management, with at least 8 years in senior leadership / management roles.
• A background in professional services, technology, or other fast-paced, knowledge-based industries.
• Experience and relationships with multiple vendors. In particular good relationships with large scale technology providers.
• Demonstrated success in leading global teams and delivering large-scale process improvement and change management initiatives.
• Deep expertise in technology vendor management, including contract negotiation, performance management, and risk mitigation.
• Experience implementing and scaling procurement systems and tools (e.g. VMS, ERP).
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes.
• A collaborative, data-driven leadership style with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
