The Head of Performance and Insight will lead the Trust's Performance and Insight team, driving the strategic development and advancement of the team and its relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role supports the delivery of the Trust's Digital Strategy in collaboration with other Digital Services Teams.
The post holder will act as an authoritative source of specialist knowledge and skills in information analysis, interpretation, reporting and business intelligence, with a focus on mental health and community services. They will liaise across all levels of staff, lead cross professional improvement programmes, and embed an evidence based, data driven culture within the organisation.
Main duties of the jobThe Head of Performance and Insight will:
- Produce, develop and promote a wide range of information related initiatives aligned with the Trust's business agenda;
- Interpret national guidance for Mental Health and Community Services analysis, modelling, reporting and business intelligence;
- Oversee the implementation of NHS Oversight Framework (NOF), demand management, access capacity planning, performance & clinical indicators, the Information Schedule (Schedule 6 - including MHSDS, CSDS, IAPT), the Quality Schedule (Schedule 4) and other relevant datasets;
- Manage delivery of contract and commissioning datasets, internal and external audit projects;
- Escalate exceptions and issues, proposing appropriate solutions and driving continuous improvement.
- Master's level in Informatics or a related subject, with at least 5 years of experience in NHS or public sector performance management;
- Post qualification experience in a data performance environment within an NHS Informatics and Insight context.
- Specialist knowledge of national and local NHS performance management frameworks;
- Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload and supervise a team to deliver key deliverables;
- Strong performance management skills, ensuring effective stewardship of resources in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Significant experience in managing and reporting performance for a large, complex organisation.
