Job Description
Job Title: Head of Payroll

Location: This is a hybrid role, offering a combination of remote work and work from our Corby or London Office.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Payroll to join our highly driven People Shared Services Team. In this critical role, you will:

  1. Manage the payroll function for our 3,500 employees in the UK.
  2. Create and execute the global payroll strategy.
  3. Drive operational excellence and influence payroll services across the organization.
Responsibilities:
  1. Lead day-to-day management of the payroll team, ensuring performance against SLAs and KPIs.
  2. Support development of payroll supplier proposals, aligning with business needs.
  3. Ensure compliance with regulatory and business requirements, overseeing payroll solutions in line with tax and social security regulations.
  4. Oversee payroll implementation, ensuring solutions meet success criteria and business requirements.
  5. Develop risk management and disaster recovery plans related to payroll activities.
  6. Lead, inspire, and develop the payroll team through feedback, training, and career development.
Qualifications:
  1. Proven experience as a Payroll lead with the ability to manage pressure and change.
  2. Track record in payroll leadership, managing multiple solutions and vendors.
  3. Strong understanding of people systems, platforms, and current tax and social security legislation.
  4. Experience with payroll system reviews and vendor selection.
  5. Ability to deliver projects involving significant technical change.
  6. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and numeracy skills.
