We're looking for a Head of Buying to join our Commercial leadership team at Buyagift.co.uk , the UK's leading provider of experience gifts and part of the Moonpig Group. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the sourcing and development of our experience categories, with a strong focus on contracting new business across the experiences and travel trade industry, and managing a team of talented Category Managers.

About the Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, Experiences, you'll be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of our buying function. Your mission will be to grow and diversify our supplier base, enhance our product offering, and ensure we maintain our market-leading position by offering the most compelling and exclusive experiences across the UK.

You will lead a team of Category Managers and work cross-functionally with our merchandising, trading, marketing, and product teams to deliver exceptional customer propositions and meet ambitious commercial targets.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contract New Business: Proactively source, pitch, and negotiate with new suppliers across the experience and travel trade industry, identifying exclusive and scalable partnerships that elevate our customer offering.
  • Category Leadership: Own and optimise the buying strategy across multiple categories including short breaks, adventure, wellness, food & drink, and more.
  • Team Management: Lead and inspire a high-performing team of Category Managers. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build deep and collaborative relationships with key suppliers. Drive joint business planning, exclusive offers, and innovation.
  • Commercial Performance: Deliver against revenue, margin, and customer experience KPIs. Use data to identify trends and shape decision-making.
  • Customer-Centric Product Development: Work closely with marketing and product teams to ensure we deliver the right experiences to the right customers at the right time.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a senior buying, contracting or commercial role within the experience gifting, leisure, or travel trade industry.
  • A track record of contracting new suppliers and building strong, scalable commercial partnerships.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial acumen, with the ability to deliver significant margin improvements.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a bias for action - you're comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
  • Confident communicator who can influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Data-driven mindset with a passion for delivering excellent customer experiences.
