The Role

We are seeking a Director of strategic operational projects who excels at diagnosing complex operational issues, uncovering business and technology blockers, and working across teams to design and drive practical, technically informed solutions.

You will act as an internal strategic operations consultant to senior leaders using structured problem solving, data analysis, and technical fluency (SQL, API knowledge, system architecture understanding and documentation, mastering a general purpose programming language like Python is a plus) to rapidly identify root causes and implement improvements across our operations.

This role is ideal for someone with a top tier consulting background (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or similar), combined with the ability to work hands on with data and technology to deliver solutions, not just recommendations.

What do we want to achieve together?
  • Problem Diagnosis
  • Partner with product, engineering, risk, and operations teams to deeply understand how systems, workflows, and policies interact.
  • Act as the first escalation point for complex operational issues affecting customers or internal processes.
  • Conduct structured diagnostic assessments to uncover root causes across process, data, systems, and organizational dimensions.
  • Solution Design and Execution Support
  • Translate business symptoms into clear problem statements and hypothesis driven analyses.
  • Design solutions defining functional and technical requirements.
  • Depending on the complexity of the solution chosen, you either implement it by yourself end to end or team up with the engineering and product team.
  • AI Enabled Operational Improvement
  • Identify processes where AI/ML can automate manual steps, reduce errors, or increase efficiency.
  • Partner with data and engineering to implement:
  • Automated triage systems
  • Intelligent routing or decision engines
  • Generative AI tools for document generation, policy interpretation, or internal knowledge retrieval
  • Establish metrics, alerts, dashboards, and AI driven anomaly detection to proactively surface issues before they escape.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Top tier consulting (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or equivalent)
  • Banking, fintech, or financial services operations
  • Strong issue diagnosis capabilities: root cause analysis, structured problem solving, and synthesis.
  • Ability to write or review SQL and Python to perform debugging level analysis.
  • Experience working with engineers, product managers, and data teams to design technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of how API calls, workflow engines, data pipelines, and core banking systems interact.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to simplify complex issues for senior leadership.
  • High comfort working in ambiguous environments where problems are not clearly defined.
What will you find working at INFINIT?
  • Competitive Salary and Equity: We offer highly competitive salaries and a stake in our success with share options because we're building this together.
  • Diverse and Inclusive Team: Join a dynamic and international team in excess of 8 nationalities. You'll have the chance to work with experienced professionals from around the world and foster a rich learning environment.
  • Inspiring Mission: We are dedicated to revolutionising business financing and making a positive impact on the European economy. Your work at INFINIT will have a lasting effect on businesses and communities.
  • Flexible Benefits: Access Flexible Retribution benefits through a convenient mobile app.
  • Health and Well being: Your health matters to us. You will have access to top quality Medical & Mental Health Insurance.
  • Quality Time Together: We foster a sense of community with annual gatherings and bi weekly office team gatherings. You're more than welcome to join us for quality time.
  • Personal Time Off: Enjoy flexibility with your personal time off.
  • Flexibility and Ownership: We trust our team and we are goal oriented. Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working 3 days a week in one of our office hubs (London, Paris, Madrid) and 2 days at home.
