30th October, 2025As Sepura's Head of Operations, you will be responsible for driving the company's operational performance, ensuring the successful execution of revenue and profit targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Reporting to the COO, you will define and lead the operations strategy, manage key budgets, and provide governance across all operational functions to support the delivery of the company's strategic objectives and KPIs.

Day to Day: The Head of Operations is responsible for leading and streamlining all operational functions to ensure the efficient delivery of products and services, alignment with strategic objectives, and achievement of financial targets. This role oversees the supply chain, logistics, customer service, repairs, and compliance, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organisation.
With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, cost management, and cross functional collaboration, the Head of Operations plays a vital role in translating strategy into execution, enabling sustainable growth and maintaining competitive advantage.
Main responsibilities include: Operational Leadership- Lead a team of 50+ operations staff across multiple disciplines.
- Translate sales forecasts into revenue and profit through efficient execution.
- Ensure high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead staff development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Contribute to long term strategic planning, including manufacturing and process improvement.
- Develop and implement manufacturing and sourcing strategies that meet the business's needs.
- Lead effective negotiation and procurement activities across a global supply base.
- Manage performance of key contract manufacturers.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) with early supplier involvement.
- Identify and mitigate product lifecycle risks, including tooling and material obsolescence.
- Drive product cost reduction initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Oversee demand planning and inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and availability.
- Lead a customer focused team serving a global client base.
- Manage customer expectations and delivery timelines.
- Work with Purchasing to maintain inventory accuracy and control.
- Manage customisation capacity to support revenue targets.
- Manage third party warehousing and logistics suppliers. Ensure compliance with UK export controls.
- Oversee first line customer support and license management.
- Manage technical services, demo centre, and customer training programmes.
- Provide technical account management and post sales support.
- Develop profitable service offerings for new and existing customers.
- Maximise profitability and service quality of UK and global repair centres.
- Provide repair turnaround times in line with customer SLAs.
- Manage external repair partnerships.
- Ensure ISO compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Resolve customer issues through effective alert management.
- Maintain ISO27001 and ISO14001 accreditations.
- Drive a continuous improvement approach through the organization and supply base.
- Ensure compliance with UK Home Office and NCSC guidelines.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead staff development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Contribute to long term strategic planning, including manufacturing and process improvement.
This job may involve some international and UK travelling so the successful applicant will have a full, clean driving licence, own car, and valid passport. Travel expenses will be paid.
SC Security Clearance is also required.
What you need to succeed:- Extensive experience in operations within electronics/telecommunications.
- Proven leadership in managing global supplier and customer relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy (P&L, budgeting).
- SC Security Clearance.
- Demonstrated success in managing global customer service teams.
- Degree or CIPS qualification desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving cultural change.
- High attention to detail and numeracy.
- Strong prioritisation and problem solving capabilities.
- Motivational leader with a drive for excellence.
