Head of Legal and Economics

Location: Dublin city centre, with hybrid working

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal and economic advice across supervision, enforcement, policy and legislative development.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of legal advisers and economists.
• Provide clear, practical advice on complex regulatory and litigation matters.
• Identify and mitigate legal risk while supporting robust decision-making.
• Engage with government departments, public bodies, industry and EU institutions.
• Develop operational plans, governance, budgets, processes and resourcing for the unit.

Essential experience

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with a current practising certificate, where applicable.
• 5-10 years' relevant post-qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong legal advisory and litigation experience.
• Proven leadership and people-management capability.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience working collaboratively with economists and translating regulatory policy into practical solutions.

Desirable

• Postgraduate qualification in law, technology, cybersecurity, engineering, data analytics or a related field.
• Senior-level experience in regulatory supervision or enforcement.
• Experience with governance, budgeting and large-scale regulatory programmes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
