Head of Legal

Overview

We are delighted to be working exclusively with a high-growth business in the SaaS/Technology sector, in their search for a Head of Legal. The company is in a strong position, and on the back of a recent private equity takeover, they are now in an exciting growth phase. They are seeking an experienced commercial lawyer with a good understanding of complex commercial contracts negotiations, compliance & data matters, to lead on the business as usual commercial law matters and managing a small team. You will report directly into the CEO, and get the chance to look at how legal operations are being run and design & implement more sophisticated and efficient ways of working, but the main focus of the role will be the business as usual, core commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead on business as usual, core commercial contracts and related negotiations for the organisation.
• Manage a small team of junior lawyers and compliance professionals; provide mentorship and supervision.
• Partner with the CEO and key stakeholders to improve legal operations and implement efficient processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience as a senior commercial lawyer with a strong track record in complex commercial contracts negotiations.
• Understanding of compliance & data matters; familiarity with SaaS/Technology sector and customer-facing/sales oriented businesses.
• Experience in a Head of Legal role or stepping up into a Head of Legal position, with stakeholder management at senior levels.

Role Options

• a) a senior commercial lawyer seeking a step up into a Head of Legal role with responsibility for BAU core commercial contracts and senior stakeholder management.
• b) a lawyer already operating at Head of Legal level seeking a more dynamic growth environment.

Compensation & Working Arrangements

The base salary is circa £130,000 with some attractive wider perks. The business operates a hybrid working policy and requires some office contact in the Crewe office.
