This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of critical IT infrastructure in a fast-paced financial services organisation. With autonomy to identify and deliver high-impact initiatives, you'll collaborate with expert teams across multiple technology domains, directly enabling business success in the global commodities market.

Job Title: Global Head of IT Infrastructure Operations
Job Type: Permanent
Hybrid: 4-5 days on-site per week (with global oversight)
Location: Central London
Salary: Up to £160,000 (plus bonus & shares)

The Role
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across all infrastructure teams, attending regular meetings and maintaining awareness of major activities and incidents.
  • Drive service and process improvements to enhance operational excellence.
  • Monitor and manage capacity planning, life cycle management of hardware/software assets, and datacentre operations.
  • Oversee operations, capacity, and maintenance of datacentre environments.
  • Conduct regular service reviews with key vendors (eg, Microsoft, datacentre providers), validating spend and ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Plan and execute Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) tests to maintain resilience.
  • Provide governance, reporting on operational health, major incidents, and risks to leadership.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of technical experience in IT Operations across one or more technology areas.
  • Proven experience managing infrastructure technology teams and collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Experience working within financial services
  • Strong expertise in working with outsourced providers, vendor management, capacity planning, life cycle management, datacentre operations, and BCP/DR planning.
  • A detail-oriented, team-focused leader with a personable and influential style, committed to stability, continual improvement, honesty, and transparency.
  • Ability to manage teams and vendors effectively, fostering collaboration without over-reliance on SLAs.
