PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £120,000-£135,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
The BBC is undergoing one of the most ambitious periods of transformation in its history. As we evolve our digital, technology and product capabilities, we are seeking an exceptional Head of HR - Technology & Product to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation.
WHY JOIN THE TEAMThis is a senior, strategic HR leadership position supporting our Technology & Product divisions. You will act as a trusted partner to Senior Leaders and C suite stakeholders, bringing fresh thinking, strong commercial judgement and a deep understanding of how to build high performing, future ready teams.
You will lead a team of nine HR professionals and drive an agenda focused on culture, leadership, talent, organisational effectiveness and transformation. With a fast paced environment and a complex matrix structure, this role requires someone who is proactive, adaptive and confident navigating large scale change.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT- Partner with senior leaders across Technology & Product to shape and deliver people strategies as efficiently as possible; ensuring appropriate investment while delivering maximum value through reducing costs and identifying new ways of working to maximise return to the audience/customer.
- Lead large scale, complex functional/Pan BBC HR change programmes, managing stakeholders within a matrix environment, to ensure successful delivery within budget and timescales.
- Lead on organisational design and operating model development to ensure we are structured for success.
- Partner with Senior Leaders and provide expert advice across a broad range of specialisms to handle the most complex situations, making decisions independently.
- Build effective relationships across the division and collaborate to create an inclusive culture and an environment in which colleagues can thrive.
- Work with trade unions to maintain constructive relationships and support effective negotiation.
- Lead the development and embedding of a high performance culture across Technology & Product, setting clear expectations and enabling teams to deliver at their best.
- Drive meaningful progress on diversity and inclusion, integrating D&I principles into leadership behaviours, talent processes and everyday practices.
- Significant HR leadership experience within technology and/or product led environments.
- A proactive, modern approach, with the confidence to challenge and introduce fresh ideas.
- Experience developing and embedding operating models.
- Hands on expertise driving culture, transformation and change programmes.
- Experience working effectively with trade unions.
- Adept at managing numerous, diverse senior and executive level stakeholders, often operating under tight timescales and managing numerous competing priorities.
- A convincing and persuasive communicator, required to modify beliefs and opinions of teams, as well as senior stakeholders, able to establish effective and collaborative relations across BBC departments, and external agencies/stakeholders where required.
