This is a new role, working directly with the CEO, offering an exciting opportunity to shape effective policies and processes during a transformative period for the charity.

This position is ideal for an experienced governance professional seeking their next challenge. If you have expertise in governance best practices, providing strategic and administrative support to the board and committees, and a strong focus on compliance and regulatory requirements, we would like to hear from you.

You will act as a trusted advisor, reporting directly to the CEO, supporting the board and committees on corporate governance and compliance issues. There is also potential to assist the CEO with strategy development and organizational performance management.

A thorough understanding of corporate governance, along with experience advising boards and executive leaders, is essential.

You should possess high personal integrity, maintain confidentiality, and have a proactive, solutions-focused attitude.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a governance or company secretary role.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Why work for us?

We are committed to a positive workplace culture. While some in-office presence is required, we operate a hybrid model of in-person and remote work, with most employees working in the office three days a week. We offer 25 days paid holiday (pro rata), bank holidays, a birthday day off, contributory pension scheme, access to Perkbox discounts, Employee Assistance Programme, WeCare scheme, Bupa cash plan, life assurance, season ticket loan, and cycle to work scheme.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must have an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Applications without full employment history and references will not be considered.

All colleagues must promote and safeguard the welfare of children they are responsible for or contact, and adhere to the RAD's Safeguarding Policy.

We encourage applications from people with disabilities, minority ethnic backgrounds, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Please inform us of any access needs for the interview.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and bring relevant documents if invited for an interview. We cannot sponsor under the Skilled Worker scheme.
