Head of Finance - Charity

A+F Recruitment is partnering with a leading international NGO to appoint a Head of Finance.

This is a senior finance role overseeing finance operations across multiple international locations, providing strategic financial leadership in a complex, multi currency environment.

The successful candidate will partner closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board, leading financial planning, governance, risk management, reporting, treasury, and finance transformation initiatives.

The role offers the opportunity to lead an established finance function, supporting impactful programmes across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Responsibilities

• Oversee audits, controls, and risk management
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Manage treasury, cashflow, and FX exposure
• Lead the annual budgeting process and mid-year reviews
• Lead finance systems and transformation projects
• Partner with senior leadership and provide strategic financial support across all divisions and country offices
• Support donor compliance and international funding
• Lead and develop a high performing finance team

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA
• 8+ years PQE within a senior finance leadership roles
• Experience operating across multi entity and/or international environments
• Strong background in governance, compliance, budgeting, controls, and stakeholder management
• Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Previous experience leading sizeable finance teams
• Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector desirable not essential
