PAS Division

PAS is a Walton Research Division comprising of researchers focusing on addressing critical research challenges relating to the evolution of programmable autonomous systems, across a number of Thematic Research Areas. These include:Adaptive and Autonomous Algorithms- the foundation of the modern Internet of Things (IoT), transforming passive, data-gathering sensors into intelligent, self-managing networks. By leveragingMachine Learning & Artificial Intelligence- at the edge, these systems adapt to changing environments and execute decisions in real-time by learning from experience without human intervention.Smart AgriTech- is transforming the global food supply chain by integrating digital data, automation, and AI from production to consumption. IoT sensor networks capture critical real-time data, which flows securely through shared data spaces to optimize the entire supply chain from farm to fork. This optimizes resource use, guarantees food safety, and drastically cuts environmental footprints to meet strict international green targets.Smart Energy- focuses on digitalising, automating, and securing the energy sector. Smart energy grids use IoT sensor networks to collect real-time data on electricity demand and supply across the power network. Adaptive and autonomous algorithms analyze changing energy patterns to balance grid loads and prevent blackouts. This integration transforms infrastructure into an intelligent, self-healing smart energy network that maximizes efficiency and incorporates renewable resources.
