Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

GSL Education are seeking a Head of Computer Science to join the dedicated leadership team of a Secondary School in Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire.

Head of Computer Science Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Computer Science department.
• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across KS3 to KS5 (including GCSE and A-Level).
• Monitor, assess and support the progress of all pupils.
• Lead on curriculum development, ensuring alignment with national standards and school objectives.
• Manage and support department staff.
• Work closely with the SLT to uphold the school's values of Care, Creativity and Achievement.

Head of Computer Science Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
• Proven experience teaching Computer Science across at least two key stages, ideally up to A-Level.
• Leadership or curriculum coordination experience is desirable.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have an enhanced child workforce DBS certificate on the Update Service or are willing to process one through GSL Education.
