Salary: Competitive Contract Type: Permanent We're looking for an exceptional Head of Compliance - DGIEU to join our dynamic Risk & Compliance team. In this pivotal role, you'll shape and drive compliance strategy across our regional operations, ensuring we meet regulatory requirements and uphold Group Standards.You'll be the trusted advisor to the business, providing assurance to senior management and influencing key decisions that keep us ahead in a fast-changing regulatory landscape. Key Responsibilities: Hold the Key position Compliance for the DGIEU Work with the business to develop local policies and procedures that implement and/or adapt Group Policies and Standards Work with the business to embed the Risk and Compliance Framework across the operation and where appropriate, relevant third-party operations Proactively monitor the Regulatory Horizon / industry news, to provide informed and forward-looking advice to enable the business to anticipate and respond to changes in the regulatory landscape. Design and execute DGIEU risk-based compliance monitoring programme across both internal and external third party distribution and service channels Further improve and embed the Internal Controls System Executing people management responsibilities, including 1-2-1s to aid the development of direct reports Ensuring compliance reports are prepared to the highest standards of clarity, substance, presentation and adapted to the needs of the recipients. To work with the business to track, manage and report on actions arising from compliance monitoring reviews or other compliance actions that may arise from time to time to ensure these are closed in a timely manner and in accordance with agreed timescales To design and deliver appropriate adapted Group Compliance training for all relevant staff and to assist the business in designing and delivering relevant compliance training for third party distributors or service providers, as required To advise and guide DGIEU and it's branches on compliance issues and regulatory developments that may impact on the business, and to advise and guide the business and, where appropriate, third parties on compliance requirements in areas such as financial promotions, scripts, complaints, claims and training. Where any changes to the business are required to assist the business in complying with regulatory requirements Providing input to, compiling regulatory reports, both internal and external, in accordance with Group reporting procedures. To assist in any regulatory visits or information requests from regulators including collation of documents etc. Review and sign off contracts, training material, terms and conditions, marketing material, telephone scripts etc Skills and experience required: Previous experience working in General Insurance Regulated Financial Services background within in a compliance function Degree standard or suitable professional qualifications Fluent in German and English Solvency II regulations, Bafin requirements, understanding of legislation and regulations impacting on insurance industry, especially extended warranty Ability to effectively liaise, communicate, consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders with different first languages. Ability to work as an effective team member in a demanding work environment. Proven ability to achieve and sustain a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
