The Role

AsIAm is seeking a Head of Community Support Hub Service who will report to the Director of Operations. The successful candidate will join the senior management team and support the Executive team in implementing the strategic goals and objectives of the organisation.

The AsIAm Community Support Hub (CSH) model seeks to support autistic individuals across the lifespan in the areas of advocacy, social connection and wellbeing. Individuals attending the Community Support Hubs may avail of individual or group support.

The successful candidate will oversee our two existing Community Support Hubs in Dublin and Galway and will oversee the rollout of additional sites as we expand these supports.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the clinical governance of AsIAm's CSH model, working closely with the Executive to identify new growth opportunities and innovative ways to support autistic people, including pursuing funding, evaluating impact and driving success. In addition, the successful candidate will have significant responsibility in terms of Section 39 compliance and reporting.

The Head of Community Support Hub Service will be required to travel across CSH sites nationally as the need arises.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with an Allied Health or Nursing or Social Care/Work background with experience in championing neuroaffirmative and rights based care. We particularly welcome applications from neurodivergent individuals.

Key Responsibilities Senior Management Team
  • Actively participate as a member of the senior management team and contribute to the development and implementation of plans and decisions by the Executive team and Board with a particular focus on the CSH model.
Day to Day Operations
  • Oversee the smooth running of AsIAm's Community Support Hubs.
  • Provide leadership and support to the individual CSH managers and their respective teams.
  • Support the design and implementation of a suite of CSH advisory services and programmes to support individuals and families.
  • Use data analysis reviews/trends to provide support and guidance to the CEO and Director of Operations in the development of the organisation's public policy and lobbying activities.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Operations review the potential for increased services across advice, advocacy and social connection supports.
  • Support the Director of Operations in reporting to the HSE on the progress and implementation of CSH.
  • Drive the regional roll out of the CSH programme.
  • Ensure CSH management and staff are fully trained to provide reliable information and direct support to adults, children and their families.
  • Oversee the implementation of robust procedures and risk management processes to safeguard adults, children, families and employees involved in programmes in line with local and national policy.
  • Oversee the development of engaging, evidence based resources to support community members in print and on digital and app platforms.
Clinical Governance
  • Lead on clinical effectiveness, ensuring clear lines of departmental responsibility, measuring and delivering person centred care, delivering safe and robust information management.
  • Implement a robust assessment and management process of clinical risk/service user safety.
  • Facilitate ongoing department wide professional development.
People Management & Leadership
  • Set the direction for the CSH team, clearly communicate expectations, regularly review goals, outputs and activities to ensure delivery of strategic goals.
  • Leadership and development of the team, fostering a positive and inclusive culture and implementing organisational people management and engagement programmes.
  • Manage team members and delegate tasks and activities to ensure optimal performance of the entire team.
  • Provide coaching/mentoring as necessary.
Other
  • Identify growth opportunities - including pursuing funding, evaluating impact and driving success.
  • Budget management - ensure all programmes are operating within budget.
  • Governance and controls - ensure all direct reports are operating to the highest standards of governance in line with legal, statutory and organisational policies.
Key Requirements Essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a clinical/social care professional, incorporating management experience.
  • Clinical or social care qualification.
  • Proven experience in people and programme management.
  • Highly knowledgeable as regards barriers impacting autistic people living in Ireland, and supports to navigate these barriers.
  • Experience working with individuals with an intellectual disability.
  • Ability to communicate highly effectively with a diverse community of people.
  • Ability to analyse data and disseminate information to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of disability legislation and public policy.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent risk analysis/management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
  • Development and delivery of national support programmes.
  • Knowledge of Section 39 of the Health Act 2004 and/or HSE services.
Contract Duration

This is a permanent role.

Salary and Benefits

Salary will align with Grade VII as set out in the HSE Consolidated Pay Scale. In addition, we offer:

Working Hours

The role holder can be based in either the Dublin 8 or Galway (Liosban Industrial Estate) Hub and is Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role holder will be required to travel across Community Support Hub sites nationally as the need arises. The role holder is required to have a degree of flexibility regarding working hours with the expectation of some evening and weekend work.

Location

The role will be based from our Galway or Dublin Community Support Hub. Hybrid working arrangements can be facilitated in discussion with the line manager. The role holder can avail of up to 3 days remote working per week.
