The Opportunity: Head of Commercial Finance

The Impact you will have:

• Support the SS Vertical Managing Director in delivering strategic and operational objectives.
• Produce highâ€'quality financial and KPI reporting for the vertical, clearly identifying risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
• Lead full financial oversight of the vertical, including reporting, budgeting, and shortâ€', mediumâ€' and longâ€'term forecasting.
• Embed a culture of continuous improvement and commercial challenge, ensuring best practice in billing, dispute resolution, and revenue assurance.
• Drive commercial performance across the vertical, improving pricing discipline, margin, and overall profitability.
• Maximise financial returns from engineering resources and capital deployed across the SS Vertical and wider Group.
• Support customer development initiatives and contribute to commercial growth strategies.
• Contribute to the evaluation and development of new business lines and diversification opportunities.
• Support future M&A activity within the vertical, including analysis, due diligence, and integration where required.
• Help establish core operating systems and processes, embedding strong control, quality, and accuracy across the vertical.
• Collaborate with Financial Shared Services on GL activity, debt collection, AP queries, and other verticalâ€'related requirements.
• Support Group Finance with all reporting and compliance requirements linked to the vertical.
• Manage and maintain accuracy of vertical balance sheet items.
• Provide accurate cashâ€'flow forecasting to enable Group Treasury to effectively manage Groupâ€'wide liquidity.

What will help you to excel in this role:

• Extensive experience operating in senior financial leadership roles within organisations of comparable scale and complexity.
• Proven track record of contributing effectively at Senior Leadership Team level, shaping strategic and operational decisionâ€'making.
• Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to drive performance, profitability, and value creation.
• Strong influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and assertively at all levels of the business.
• Ability to translate financial insight into clear, actionable guidance that supports and strengthens business strategy.
