We're looking to recruit a confident and enthusiastic Head Housekeeper to lead our domestic team. You'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, dignified, and homely environment for our residents, while supporting and mentoring your team to deliver exceptional standards every day.

Job Purpose

As Head Housekeeper, you'll oversee all domestic and laundry operations within the home. Your role is vital in ensuring residents live in a clean, comfortable, and safe environment, one that reflects dignity, respect, and care. You'll lead by example, supporting your team to deliver exceptional service with compassion and attention to detail.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leading, supervising, and motivating the housekeeping teams
  • Planning staff rotas and ensuring adequate daily cover
  • Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the home
  • Ensuring all rooms and communal areas meet regulatory and organisational expectations
  • Carrying out audits and inspections to maintain quality standards
  • Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Ensuring safe and effective use of cleaning materials and machinery
  • Training new staff and supporting ongoing development
  • Reporting maintenance issues promptly and following up where necessary
  • Supporting hands on cleaning tasks when required
  • Building positive relationships with residents, offering friendly interactions and support
Requirements
  • Naturally kind, caring, and compassionate
  • Experience in housekeeping, preferably within a care or hospitality setting
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience desirable
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident in leading a team and managing day to day operations
  • Able to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors
  • Willingness to support both housekeeping and laundry areas when needed
  • Passionate about creating a homely environment where residents feel valued and cared for
Pay Rates
  • £13.60 per hour
  • £27.20 per hour (Bank Holidays)
