Job Description
Main duties of the job

The position available is for a Head Chef at Barchester Healthcare's Care Home in Chipping Norton. The role offers a permanent contract with a salary of £42,000 per annum. Working days and alternate weekends only, spread across 4 to 5 days a week.

Qualifications and Experience
  • City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
  • Leading, motivating and inspiring a team.
  • Good understanding of HACCP and COSHH.
  • Knowledge of modified diets using the IDDSI framework.
  • Experience with fresh seasonal food and nutrition.
  • Experience working with front of house team to ensure high standards.
  • Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment.
Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and inspire a team; develop and upskill where required.
  • Menu development tailored around residents to deliver person-centred hospitality.
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes cooked to the highest standards.
  • Bake fresh cakes, scones and breads from scratch.
  • Assist front of house team with setting up dining areas.
  • Work within budget, complete regular audits and stock control.
  • Create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
  • Ongoing recruitment and retention.
  • Manage the performance of the kitchen team and front of house.
