HCM Functional CORE & Payroll Project Manager

This role will be the key in the HR Tech CoE to support the deployment of the HCM platform and new implementations or process improvements. Will be part of managing HR projects for global HR Operations and cross functional HR Technology or process related programmes to other HR teams either in CoEs or geographies with an emphasis of Workday HCM CORE and global payroll solutions. It plays a critical role for the overall Iberostar people's agenda to a successful HR transformation, digitization and new ways of working enabling Operational Excellence initiatives.
Job Location: Palma de Mallorca Headquarters, Spain.
️ What will your day-to-day work be like?
Reporting to the Global HR Operations Director, your main responsibilities will include:
- Act as a key expert for the HCM Workday configuration and deployment of the CORE module and any relevant link to global payroll context, including testing, validation, post-implementation support collaborating with global project team and implementation partner
- Work with HR Operations teams in the geographies to understand their business processes and local policies and practices, provide recommendations, and support configure Workday solutions according to their needs and wider operating model in any relevant payroll or personnel administration context.
- Champions and recommends optimizations to increase efficiency and effectiveness of HR Operations and payroll. Strongly collaborate with the HCM implementation partner.
- Testing & Validation: Inputs to develop test cases with implementation partner, conduct unit testing, and manage user acceptance testing (UAT) for Workday implementations and upgrades
- Post-Implementation support to the regions: Offer post-go-live support in collaboration with implementation partner and post partner support to ensure the system functions properly and resolve any continued operational issues prioritizing CORE and payroll relevant integrations
- Actively participating in the design of HR Tech process maps, capturing process improvements, robotizations in other platforms, SOPs (standard operating procedures), global HR policies and critical HR mini guides, key user material and HR upskilling sources
- Responsible for co-creating and maintaining a global HR knowledge base for HR operations projects with the regions and any relevant cross functional projects
Who is the ideal person for this job?
The ideal candidate for this position brings excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients at various levels, stakeholder management & engagement skills; strong problem-solving, analytical skills and project management skills. As well as being able to think strategically and tactically to deliver practical solutions with a can do attitude and service mind-set for people delivery in the hospitality industry.
- Education:
University Degree within Business Administration or similar.
Workday HCM certification (preferred but not required).
- Experience / Background:
5 years of experience in implementing and supporting payroll systems and HRIS / HCM platforms. Preferably demonstrated project track record around SAP HR, Totus and Workday HCM modules. Previous international background in operational day2day payroll is a clear plus.
Strong knowledge of Workday Core HR, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence Management, and Reporting. Preferably expertise in Workday configuration, business process design, security setup, and report creation.
Prior experience with designing HR policies, HR process maps, SOPs (standard operating procedures) or exposure to day2day HR operations in the hospitality sector is not a must, but highly valued
- Tools:
Experience with HCM (Workday preferred, or similar SuccessFactors, Oracle )
Experience with Google Suite and / or Microsoft Office.
SmartSheet or other Project planning tools.
- Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish and English.
Portuguese or French is a plus.
