Haematology Specialist Nurse - Bone Marrow Transplant CNS

We are delighted to recruit to the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinical Nurse Specialist team to support our patients within the Haematology service.

Hours: Monday - Friday, usually between 08.00-16.00.

Applications are encouraged from registered nurses with experience caring for patients in a Haematology/oncology outpatient setting.

Line management and ongoing professional support will be provided by the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team based on Oxford Road Campus.

Main duties of the job

You will have a clear understanding of the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist as a clinical expert, leader, researcher and educator. You will act as the key worker for transplant patients. Your role will be an integral part of the Haematology department and you will be expected to contribute to educational sessions and MDT meetings regularly. You will also be committed to the development of specialist nursing practice and demonstrate evidence of on going professional and academic development. You'll be encouraged to expand your knowledge, skills and competencies within a supported and friendly environment with training opportunities available to support you along the way. Person Specification Qualifications

• Educated to diploma level
• Specialty qualification
• Teaching qualification
• Evidence of Level 3 studies
• Graduate or working towards a first degree in a health related subject

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years at band 5 practitioner level
• Portfolio of evidence showing achievements in practice/specialty
• Recent evidence of continuing professional and personal development, both clinical and managerial
• Evidence of delivering teaching programmes to staff groups
• Minimum of 1 year working Haematology/oncology experience
• 2 years experience
• Evidence of a proven clinical record
• Maintained development of clinical leadership skills
• Evidence of diplomacy and negotiation skills
• Able to demonstrate imaginative and effective use of resources
• Able to articulate personal development needs
• Demonstrates knowledge of audit/research recommendations
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Evidence of involvement in change management
• Undertaken a leadership programme e.g. LEO

Salary

£38,682 to £46,580 a year (per annum, pro rata)
