About Our Client

This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically strong, commercially minded finance professional to join a large, ambitious and highly acquisitive organisation.

Working closely with an impressive and highly experienced Finance Director, you will take ownership of group financial reporting, consolidation and audit.

The position would suit a qualified accountant with a strong grounding in audit, complemented by experience working within industry. You will combine technical credibility with commercial judgement and the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, operational finance teams and external auditors.

Job Description

The organisation is continuing to grow and evolve, creating significant scope for the successful individual to shape reporting processes, strengthen financial governance and contribute to wider strategic initiatives.

You will play a central role in the development of the group reporting framework. With regular exposure to senior leadership and the Board, this role offers excellent visibility, variety and long-term career progression.

  • Leading the group consolidation process and ensuring the accurate and timely production of consolidated financial information.
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts, Board reporting and financial performance analysis.
  • Coordinating the year-end reporting process across multiple group entities.
  • Acting as a key contact for external auditors and ensuring audit queries are resolved effectively.
  • Preparing and reviewing consolidated statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures.
  • Providing technical accounting guidance on complex matters, including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, impairment reviews, foreign currency accounting and share-based payments.
  • Supporting the reporting and control aspects of post-acquisition integration.
  • Improving and standardising reporting, reconciliation and consolidation processes.
  • Strengthening financial controls and governance across the group.
  • Supporting finance transformation, systems development and automation initiatives.
  • Translating complex financial information into clear, commercially meaningful insight.
  • Building effective relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders across the organisation.
The Successful Applicant

You will be a qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA, CA or CIMA, with a strong audit background and meaningful experience gained within an industry environment.

You are likely to offer:

  • Significant post-qualification experience in audit, financial reporting or technical accounting.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and experience of complex group consolidations.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity, acquisitive or structurally complex organisation.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and financial control.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial reporting or consolidation systems.
  • Experience within a private equity-backed, professional services, multi-jurisdictional or highly acquisitive business would be particularly valuable.
