We are looking for a Qualified (ACA-ACCA-CIMA) experienced Accountant to join the Corporate Centre finance team where they will play a key role within Group Finance. The role provides exposure to Management and Financial Accounting, Statutory accounts preparation, Financial Analysis, Treasury, Accounts Payable etc. In addition, this individual will play an integral role in the cross-team deliverables, ensuring the Corporate Centre finance operations are set for optimal delivery at key quarterly results periods.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the accounting records of the legal entities within Corporate Centre.
  • Responsible for journal preparation including associated workings, reports, and controls to enable timely monthly and quarterly submissions to Group Finance.
  • Preparation of Monthly/Quarterly close Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss packs and associated reconciliations.
  • Responsible for production of Statutory Accounts, leading on the year-end audit process with external auditors.
  • Provide support in other complex areas including financial instruments, accruals, recharges, lease accounting, investments, payroll, pensions and VAT group accounting.
  • Responsible for group recharges, balancing of Intercompany transactions and settlement across group entities.
  • Streamline, automate and enhance the Corporate Centre MI information including expenses reporting, FX analysis and forecasting, budgeting, cash flow reporting, Office for National Statistics returns and any other ah-hoc submissions as required from time to time.
  • Support the development of a continuous improvement culture utilising external insights and best practice.
  • Actively support both Finance and Group-wide projects relevant to the role

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA, CIMA, ACCA with a minimum three + years' PQ experience within Financial Services, Insurance or multi-national business.
  • Good IFRS technical and financial reporting experience & Statutory accounts preparation.
  • Confident interrogating and analysing high volumes of data with an attention to detail
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and ability to work both alone and as part of a team
  • Strong control mindset and experience
  • Oracle products, SmartView, Power BI, Macros knowledge (highly desirable)

Reporting Relationships/ Interactions:

  • Reports to Corporate Centre Financial Controller
  • Maintain constructive and supportive professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including Business Unit finance teams, and external auditors.
