The Group Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing financial processes, reporting, and analysis for a growing business within the Transport & Distribution industry. Description

  • Prepare and consolidate monthly management accounts for the group.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and improve financial controls and processes across the group.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure financial data supports business activities.
  • Assist in year-end audit processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and efficiency improvements.

Profile

A successful Group Accountant should have:

  • A relevant professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and practices, particularly FRS and UK GAAP (desirable).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in financial software such as SAP, Sage and Oracle
