Stevenage & Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire Full-Time, Permanent £26,724 p.a.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are working with a leading provider of affordable and social housing to source two Estate Assistants to join their dedicated estates team, covering Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas.

The estates team plays a key role in delivering an excellent resident experience through high quality grounds maintenance and estate management. Both roles are full time and permanent, offering long term stability within a well resourced and values led organisation.

THE ROLE

As an Estate Assistant you will be responsible for maintaining communal outdoor spaces to an agreed high standard, acting as the visible, on site representative of the organisation across your patch. Day to day duties will include:

• Carrying out high quality gardening and grounds maintenance across a varied portfolio of sites and garden types.
• Lawn care, shrub and plant maintenance, and general seasonal grounds work.
• Occasional cleaning of internal communal areas as required.
• Building positive relationships with residents, contractors and colleagues.
• Reporting responsive repairs, fly tipping, graffiti and safeguarding concerns to the relevant teams.
• Working in full compliance with Health & Safety legislation at all times, including COSHH and PPE requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You will be an experienced Estate or Grounds Maintenance Assistant who takes pride in your work and genuinely goes the extra mile for residents. You will also be able to demonstrate:

• Proven professional experience of grounds maintenance across a variety of sites and garden types.
• Sound knowledge and practical experience of lawn, shrub and plant care.
• A track record of achieving high levels of customer and resident satisfaction.
• The ability to carry out physical tasks safely within Health & Safety guidelines.
• The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and under your own initiative.
• Working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation, including COSHH and PPE.
