Job Description
A ground worker helps with building and repairing roads, pipes, and cables. They work on construction sites and do the basic and important jobs that prepare the ground for bigger work. A ground worker makes sure the soil is ready for things like cables, water pipes, sewers, roads, and building foundations.

- Digging holes and trenches, and filling them back in
- Mostly digging by hand with a shovel
- Making the ground flat and ready to work on
- Helping to put in cables, pipes, and sewer lines
- Pulling and laying cables
- Cleaning pipes before they are used
- Wrapping pipes with insulation
- Standing in the trench to guide the machine driver where to dig
- Using simple tools and small machines (like a compactor or small digger)
- Cleaning the work area and keeping it safe and tidy
- Working together with machine drivers and other workers
Job Requirements:
- Physically fit and enjoys working outdoors
- English speaking
- Practical and motivated work attitude
- Able to work safely and accurately
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations (VCA certification often required)
- Driver's license B is plus
- Team player
