What we are looking forWe are looking for a versatile and driven Ground Segment Software Architect, with a passion for building and promoting cutting-edge space systems.
This role is a unique opportunity to combine deep technical skills with strategic thinking, directly impacting the company's growth by closing new business.
You will work at the intersection of technology and sales, supporting the commercial team as the technical authority throughout the sales cycle. From understanding customer needs, to crafting compelling solution architectures and demos, your mission is to convince and convert. You will build prototypes, lead technical discussions, write the technical parts of proposals, and ultimately, design winning solutions that showcase the value of the Leanspace platform.
You will work closely with potential customers, whether startups launching their first mission or agencies modernizing legacy systems, to co-architect their next-gen ground segment. You will also collaborate internally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to translate real market needs into product features and commercial wins. You will represent Leanspace at industry events, trade shows, and conferences when needed.
Your goal: help us close deals by designing the right solutions and inspiring confidence in our technology.
Your Mission
We find that this role is suitable either for Space operations experts with an aerospace engineering background, or for Software solution architects who have experience developing software for the Space sector. We are looking for someone who has:
- Solid understanding of space systems, especially ground segment architecture and satellite operations.
- Strong software engineering background, with knowledge of APIs, cloud-native architectures, and system integration.
- Previous experience in a pre-sales, solution architect, or technical consultant role is a strong plus.
- Comfortable leading customer discussions, explaining complex technical topics simply and convincingly.
- A collaborative mindset, you thrive working across teams (Sales, Product, Engineering) and with clients.
- Entrepreneurial energy and a bias for action: you enjoy moving fast and solving real problems.
- Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Based in, or willing to relocate to the Strasbourg area.
Bonus points for
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to DevOps tools and modern software delivery pipelines.
- Knowledge of major industry standards (e.g., CCSDS, ECSS) or mission planning, M&C, automation, etc.
- Experience supporting public-sector bids (ESA, CNES, etc.)
- Experience with at least one programming language, including Java, javascript, python, and familiarity with others.
