Fresh Food Deli Manager, Co Mayo, Ballina. Attractive salary, early shifts, bonus.

Blue Forge Recruitment partners with progressive and respected retail and FMCG companies across Ireland. We are assisting a major Irish owned retail business operating over 35 fresh food stores nationwide to strengthen their teams.

Remuneration and Benefits

Rate per hour: €17-18 DOE or salary €35,000-38,000 + €9,000 yearly bonus. Full-time contract. Benefits include fuel and store discounts, company pension scheme, and support for further education and training.

Key Requirements for this Retail Deli Manager Job
  • Proven supervisor or manager experience in a hands on, fast paced, fresh food customer facing environment; 1 2 years suffices or 4 5 years as senior deli team member.
  • Expertise in fresh food stock control and ability to manage accurate deli orders across a wide range of products.
  • Strong eye for detail and commitment to excellence in customer service, hygiene, and presentation of fresh food displays.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage time and priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Confidence in leading, motivating, and delegating to a team while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Proactive self starter who thrives independently and as part of a team.
  • Full competence in food safety procedures and HACCP compliance, with strong understanding of best practices in food handling.
Responsibilities for this Retail Deli Manager Job
  • Take ownership of day to day operations across multiple deli functions, including readymade meals production, hot and cold food counters, and the salad bar.
  • Lead, manage, and support a team of 3-6 staff members, effectively organising workloads to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels for weekly trade, using digital tools and sales data to drive smart ordering decisions and minimise waste and shrinkage.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all food safety and hygiene protocols, including accurate upkeep of HACCP and hygiene records.
  • Uphold and enforce the highest standards across all fresh food areas, clearly communicating expectations and holding the team accountable for consistent performance.
  • Train, coach, and develop staff members, fostering a culture of excellence, boosting productivity, and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Early starts typically 6am to midday or afternoon latest; candidates must be available.
