ResponsibilitiesThe Role - You'll work in each of our three distinct specialisms:
- Security risk analysis
- Physical security systems (e.g. designing hostile vehicle mitigation solutions, physical barriers such as secure walls, doors, fencing)
- Electronic security systems (e.g. electronic access control, video surveillance, intruder detection, and command and control equipment)
Your day-to-day tasks will vary as you are exposed to all aspects of our work to discover what suits you. You could be:
- Working on live projects from day one - view some of our exciting projects
- Working in sectors from healthcare to hospitality, mission critical to government works
- Developing security need assessments, security strategies and risk assessments to validate the need for security measures
- Calculating hostile vehicle impact energies and understanding manufacture specifications, standards and best practices
- Producing detailed designs with drawings, schedules, schematics and specifications
- Writing detailed staged reports and requirements
- Using computer software such as Bluebeam, CAD and Revit
- Presenting design options to clients or design teams
- Engaging in continuous CPD and learning opportunities
A good level of communication is critical as we liaise with project teams, meet clients or end users, and attend collaborative meetings. You will receive a dedicated mentor and supervisor and participate in comprehensive training to support your development with us.
What We Are Looking For- An expected or achieved 2.1 or above in a relevant engineering degree or equivalent BSc qualification. A Masters or other relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage
- Placement or work experience in a similar industry is beneficial but not required
- Understanding of Bluebeam, CAD / Revit or similar modelling software is advantageous, but training will be offered
- Attention to detail with a strong emphasis on quality and practicality
- Strong written communication, data handling, and ability to produce high-quality outputs using appropriate software
- Ability to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before appointment and willingness to undergo National Security Vetting if required
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills, and the ability to manage your own time effectively
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Friendly, ambitious, confident, flexible and resilient, with a keen to learn something new every day
