About the role

ORS is seeking a Graduate Health & Safety Consultant to support the delivery of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) duties in line with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. This role offers exposure to projects of varying scale and complexity, with structured development into a fully competent Health & Safety and PSDP professional.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial Development Phase
    • Work closely with a senior consultant and wider HSM team to learn the PSDP function.
    • Support preparation of project documentation, including: Preliminary Safety & Health Plans; PSDP Stage Reports; Safety File compilation.
  • Progression Responsibilities
    • Attend client, design and site meetings.
    • Conduct design health & safety reviews with project design teams.
    • Carry out site visits and audits.
    • Coordinate and liaise with all project stakeholders.
    • Review designs and designer risk assessments for compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
    • Coordinate residual hazards and risks.
    • Provide safety support to internal and external project teams.
    • Offer competent advice to clients and designers on legislation and best practice.
    • Manage dedicated projects, including financial oversight.
    • Deliver general health & safety consultancy services to clients.
    • Support health & safety input for project bids.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree (Level 8 or higher) in Construction Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of, or academic exposure to, Irish Health & Safety legislation, particularly construction regulations.
  • Placement or internship experience in construction, engineering or health & safety is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle (desirable due to site visits).
