Opportunity and Team

Our Offshore Infrastructure department comprises of approximately 170 professionals dedicated to delivering assurance services across a wide range of offshore sectors. We are organised into two sections: the Asset Assurance section, which focuses on providing verification services for in-service operations, and the Project Assurance section (where this opportunity sits), which provides the technical advisory and verification services from the early design through to offshore commissioning.

At DNV, we are at the forefront of driving the global transition towards green energy, with a strong focus on the full offshore infrastructure lifecycle. From early-stage site characterisation and ground modelling through to design, installation and operation of offshore structures, our team combines site-specific geoscience expertise with advanced engineering assessments. This enables us to deliver innovative solutions to support the development of renewable energy projects, particularly offshore wind, while also ensuring the safety, resilience and efficiency of offshore operations across a diverse range of sectors including oil and gas, carbon capture and storage and hydrogen.

DNV plays a pivotal role in establishing best practices and technical standards for offshore geoscience and geotechnical engineering. Our expertise contributes to the development of global guidance and methodologies through engagement with global industry bodies such as DNV, ISO, SNAME, and numerous Joint Industry Projects (JIPs).

Graduate Programme and Role

Our Graduate Programme offers a structured path to build a foundation for your career, supporting your journey to becoming an expert in your chosen field. You'll be joined by a diverse team of geoscientists and engineers across geological, geotechnical, structural and mechanical engineering, metocean analysis, naval architecture, and hydrodynamics.

Projects are global, from Alaska to New Zealand, providing a variety of technical challenges. While this position is based in the UK, you'll be connected to DNV's international network and have opportunities to participate in exchange programs between different DNV offices worldwide after completing the Graduate Programme.

Our Graduate Programme:

The programme includes a buddy and mentor to support your technical development, ongoing on-the-job coaching, and professional development aimed at achieving chartership. You will spend two years developing real skills across multiple disciplines, building your network and understanding of our work.

As part of your development, you'll follow a graduate development path that includes a mix of virtual and in-person courses to meet other graduates, improve soft skills, gain insights into chartership, and set career goals. We support growth through our 70-20-10 philosophy (70% on-the-job learning, 20% coaching, 10% training).

Requirements for Graduates

As a Graduate, you'll have the opportunity to grow and develop your career shaping the future of offshore infrastructure. We're looking for passionate individuals eager to thrive in the dynamic offshore infrastructure industry. Here are the key requirements that will set you up for success in our programme:

• Minimum 2:2 Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology and Geophysics or related subjects
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to produce clear, actionable technical reports
• Proactive and eager to learn, with a hands-on attitude and readiness to take on challenges beyond your comfort zone; ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative
• Strong interpersonal and team working skills, with the ability to communicate and present complex ideas clearly
• Curiosity and self-motivation, with the ability to plan and prioritise own time to meet deadlines
• High adaptability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
• Additional interest/skills in Project Management, Digital Innovation or Technical Developments are valuable but not essential
