We currently have a great opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Graduate to join our Teledyne Microwave UK business in Shipley, West Yorkshire.

What you'll be involved in:

Teledyne Microwave UK are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Graduate with an eye for detail to provide support to the engineering function.The successful candidate will form part of the mechanical design office situated within Teledyne Microwave UK's Shipley site supporting RF engineers in the design, development and delivery of RF components, multi-function assemblies and systems within TMUK group. The role will also encompass product/document configuration and change management.

Generating and maintaining Product Data Package documentation that accurately defines the product utilising 3D solid modelling tools, 2D as required, and other appropriate software.

Producing documents/drawings that meet the customer's technical, quality and safety requirements while embracing a cost-effective manufacture methodology, as well as generating the associated Bills of Materials within the business management systems.

Researching background information from a variety of sources in support of mechanical design decisions.

Progression of engineering change request to defined completions dates in accordance with company procedures.

Ensuring that work packages assigned to you are completed on time and within budget.

Keeping abreast of the latest developments in the field of Mechanical Design and MCAD and applying knowledge to develop new processes that will deliver process improvement.

Creation of items/maintenance of BoMs on MRP system (currently XA).

Monitoring eQMS to ensure correct documentation is available to shopfloor and all updates captured in line with company procedures.

Communicating verbally and using presentations to peers and managers.

Foster and maintain good customer and supplier relations.

Providing production support.

Planning, implementing and coordinating own activities against objectives set by management.

Meeting project timescales.

Any other reasonable duties as directed by a member of management.


What we're looking for in you:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Competent level of mechanical design knowledge and application (machining, sheet metal fabrication, joining techniques etc.).

Competent in technical draughting.

Proficient use of 3D and 2D CAD packages (preferably Autodesk Inventor and AUTOCAD).

Proficient use of a PDM system (preferably Autodesk Vault).

Knowledge and experience of applying design and drawing standards such as BS8888.

Knowledge of material science.

Experience of product and document configuration management.

Disciplined approach and good communication skills.

Proactive in seeking resolutions to problems.

Ability to effectively manage time and costs (work package management).

Ability to motivate self to carry out tasks efficiently and effectively and to track progress, dealing with any issues as they occur.

Degree/HNC or equivalent qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline.

Ability to develop and maintain a strong network across different functional and project groups (desirable).

Due to the nature of the business, you must be eligible to gain UK Security Clearance.
