Graduate Civil Site Engineer

The successful candidate will work closely and assist key stakeholders in the design planning and construction of our contracted works. Applying academic knowledge in a collaborative team environment. Our design and build environment fosters practical learning through the complete life cycle of a project. The use of engineering design software, conducting site investigations and surveys, setting out works and dimensional control on site, performing calculations, reviewing specifications and managing quality are just some of the tasks you will be involved and supported in.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all aspects of health & safety and ethical requirements and report any information effecting health and safety for any person on a proposed site e.g. underground services, ground conditions affecting the stability of excavations or safety or operatives (soil, water table, toxic substances, gases, etc.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, site supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
- Setting out, levelling and surveying the site in accordance with the drawings and specifications
- Support in the day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors.
- Liaise with the Project Manager/planner contributing to the construction programme, programme constraints etc.
- Use problem solving techniques to resolve technical issues with employer's representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and statutory authorities
- Quality control in accordance with company procedures, method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans,
- Understand the form of contract on the project and the implications that any variation or change orders will have on the program and costs, and what implication any overrun will have in relation to costs and manpower
- Bachelor's degree/master's in civil engineering
- A knowledge of Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Strong communication skills to build relationships and explain technical drawings
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Understanding of Project Management principles
- Report writing
- Effective time management and communication skills.
- Ability to travel across Coffey sites (East/West Midlands)
- Courage to challenge status quo when driving innovation
- Some travel required across Coffey sites
- Some understanding of construction industry
- Develop and maintain basic commercial awareness
- Undertake continued professional development (CPD).
- Keep informed of emerging industry trends in technology.
- A member of the relevant Professional Institution.
