Our client, a leading international chemicals business, is seeking a Graduate Chemical Technician to join its Research & Development team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience within a highly innovative scientific environment, working on products that support a range of global industries.
Working alongside experienced scientists and technical specialists, you'll develop practical laboratory skills, contribute to exciting R&D projects and build a strong foundation for a long term career in industrial chemistry.
The RoleAs a Graduate Chemical Technician, you will support research, product development and technical service activities through laboratory testing, formulation preparation and data analysis.
Key responsibilities include:- Preparing chemical blends, formulations and test samples for internal and external evaluation
- Conducting laboratory testing using established procedures and industry standards
- Recording, analysing and reporting experimental results
- Operating, maintaining and troubleshooting specialist laboratory equipment
- Supporting product stability and compatibility studies
- Assisting with technical projects from initiation through to completion
- Managing laboratory inventory, samples and consumables
- Maintaining accurate records in line with quality and ISO requirements
- Working safely and promoting best practice laboratory standards
- Collaborating with scientists, chemists and technical teams across the organisation
This opportunity would suit a recent Chemistry graduate looking to develop a career within research and development, formulation chemistry or technical services.
Essential Requirements- Degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline
- Strong practical laboratory skills gained through university studies
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and report writing abilities
- A proactive and methodical approach to problem solving
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Industrial placement, internship or laboratory work experience
- Knowledge of analytical, formulation or materials chemistry
- Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and quality systemsInterest in applied chemistry and product development
