Are you a dedicated and forward-thinking GP looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? Blackthorn Medical Centre, an 8,500-patient GMS practice in Maidstone, is seeking an additional GP Partner for 6 sessions per week (flexibility available for the right candidate) to join our well-established, friendly, and high-achieving team. We are a supportive, multidisciplinary team consisting of 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, alongside a dedicated administrative and clinical support team. With a low staff turnover, we have built an environment where clinicians feel valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive.

Our practice is deeply committed to education and training, with two GP trainers and 2 Clinical Supervisors actively involved in mentoring GP registrars, advanced care practitioners, nurses, ARRS staff, and medical students. We empower our administrative team to upskill and take on tasks such as care navigation and coordination, document handling, prescription management, and lab result processing-allowing clinicians to focus more fully on patient care. We are also implementing BMA safe consultation limits to keep workloads manageable.

Our long-standing collaboration with the Blackthorn Trust Garden & Café enables us to offer therapeutic social prescribing for patients with chronic illness, pain conditions, and lifestyle-related health issues.

Our Senior Partner, as co-director of ABC-PCN, leads innovative projects focused on mental health and supporting families in difficulty. We also hold a contract to provide GP services at Trevor Gibbins, the local medium-secure forensic psychiatry unit-demonstrating our broad clinical scope and commitment to community health.
