Join E.ON UK as our Government and Political Affairs Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy policy. You will lead our engagement with political stakeholders across Westminster, devolved governments and regional leadership, building trusted relationships with Ministers, Members of Parliament and senior advisers. You will also lead a small team of dedicated Policy Advisors, providing guidance, mentoring and setting a clear direction. Acting as a strategic advocate for E.ON, you'll influence the policy and investment frameworks needed to accelerate the UK's energy transition, support economic growth and ensure energy remains affordable. As Government and Political Affairs Lead at E.ON UK, you will play a central role in shaping our engagement with political stakeholders and influencing the policy environment for the energy transition. This is a senior, high-profile role requiring strong judgement, credibility and the ability to operate effectively at the intersection of business and government.

Key responsibilities include:

Developing and executing a comprehensive government and political affairs strategy across Westminster, devolved governments and regional leadership

Building high-impact relationships with Ministers, MPs, Peers, Special Advisers and senior political stakeholders

Leading parliamentary engagement activity, including Select Committees, All-Party Parliamentary Groups and political events

Delivering strategic advocacy and lobbying campaigns aligned to key policy and investment priorities

Monitoring and interpreting political developments, providing insight and advice to senior leadership on risks and opportunities

Preparing senior executives for ministerial meetings, parliamentary appearances and major stakeholder engagements

  • Providing credible leadership and direction to the political engagement team, ensuring cohesion, performance excellence and alignment with E.ON's wider strategic objectives

Working collaboratively across communications, policy and regulatory functions to ensure a consistent and effective external voice

What we need from you
  • Significant experience in political engagement, government relations or public affairs.
  • Strong understanding of UK political institutions and parliamentary processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior political stakeholders.
  • Experience advising senior executives on political strategy and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to operate confidently in complex and politically sensitive environments.
