Principle Objective

Reporting to the Retail Manager, The Goods Inwards Operator will be responsible for the efficient running of the goods inwards department, profitability as well as delivering an excellent service to our customers.

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous goods in/hardware experience desirable
• Health & Safety Awareness
• Knowledge of all building products desirable
• Previous experience of working in a busy builder's providers desirable

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the secure, efficient, safe, tidy, and smooth operation of the goods inwards area
• Check off, and merchandise stock on shop floor
• Replenish stock onto shop floor from over stock
• Organisation of inbound deliveries in line with capacity and stock availability
• Responsible for the Health & Safety within the goods inwards area, ensuring quality standards are consistently kept to the highest level
• Responsible for the housekeeping in the goods inwards area
• Ensuring safe unloading of supplier vehicles in line with Health and Safety policy and procedure
• Planning of orders to be put away for part time staff (Saturdays)
• Consistently striving to reduce and improve all aspects of the warehouse costing, including overtime, machinery costs etc.

• Working week Monday to Friday, may be required to take part in the Saturday roster
