Managing Director, The Workshop The Role

Hogarth is seeking a highly experienced and driven client leader to become the Managing Director of The Workshop, running a Global Luxury account at Hogarth. This critical role demands a deep understanding of the client's brand, history, purpose, and culture to develop and deliver best in class creative, design, and delivery solutions. This individual will be a team builder who drives client business, grows Hogarth's opportunities and revenue, and adds value by building and growing client relationships, partnering confidently across the WPP network. They will also have a very clear sense of quality and standards given the nature of the client, but will always counter balance this with the culture and well being of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • • Cultivate and expand executive level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and providing strategic guidance.
    • • Oversee overall client engagement and relationship health, ensuring client satisfaction and addressing any negative feedback.
    • • Deeply understand contractual obligations and commercial arrangements.
    • • Provide regular strategic insights aligned with Hogarth's expertise.
    • • Partner with the Client Operations Director to drive account governance, including quarterly and annual business reviews.
  • Growth and Account Planning:
    • • Drive agency revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, both organically and through new business pitches.
    • • Lead global client business development and expansion efforts.
    • • Develop client specific business development plans, communication strategies, and contact strategies.
    • • Focus on cross selling Hogarth's capabilities and services, knowing where this is appropriate and where it isn't.
    • • Monitor and communicate perspectives on current marketing and industry issues, leveraging knowledge of the client's business, strategic direction, and competitive landscape.
    • • Understand client challenges and present innovative solutions in collaboration with Hogarth's global production teams.
    • • Accountable for P&L budgets, forecasting, and achieving the agreed contribution margin.
    • • Oversee Statements of Work (SOW), fee construction, pricing, account reviews, and profitability analysis.
    • • Leverage profit levers to drive profitability across the account portfolio.
    • • Lead and inspire a team of approximately 70 based in the London office, fostering a culture of fresh thinking, collaboration, respect, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
    • • Effectively navigate cross functional teams and prioritize conflicting demands.
    • • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the WPP network, particularly with our creative partners.
    • • Collaborate with the Hogarth Global ExCo and Marketing Team to showcase Hogarth's success through compelling case studies and content.
    • • Empower the team to take ownership and find solutions, removing barriers to success.
    • • Partner with the Talent teams and Business Development to hire and retain top talent.
    • • Champion sustainability initiatives within Hogarth and with clients.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience leading global clients and global work.
  • Proven ability to manage clients as profitable operations and drive growth opportunities.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Background and appreciation for creative and design, ideally within the luxury sector.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop compelling narratives and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and inspire large, complex teams.
  • French language skills are a plus.
