We are currently hiring for a Global Head of Artificial Intelligence position as part of the Enterprise Risk Management team. This is an integral and exciting opportunity to be the first point of contact for the First Line of Defence on Artificial Intelligence and the risks associated with it. The successful candidate will have strong experience in AI and Risk Management and will use their knowledge and expertise to set the framework for the management of AI Risk.

In this role you will:
  • Lead on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Risk management across HSBC.
  • Set the framework for the management of Artificial Intelligence Risk.
  • Provide advice and subject matter advisory support to Global Businesses and Global Functions in relation to Artificial Intelligence Risk, to find efficient and effective ways of embedding related risks and controls into processes, behaviours and assist execution accordingly.
  • Manage, support and oversee relevant 1LOD and 2LOD Artificial Intelligence governance forums and working groups as required.
  • Drive improved senior stakeholder insight and decision making for Artificial Intelligence Risk, ensuring that the Board and Executive Management have visibility and oversight of the highest Artificial Intelligence Risks, allowing them to discharge their responsibilities in relation to these.
  • Manage, support and oversee relevant 1LOD and 2LOD Artificial Intelligence governance forums and working groups as required.
  • Design, secure support for, and build an appropriate operating model for the management of Artificial Intelligence Risk and will provide effective oversight and stewardship across HSBCs Group, Businesses and Regions.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Prior experience in Artificial Intelligence and risk management gained within a Financial Institution.
  • A deep understanding and technical expertise of Artificial Intelligence Risk, including how this risk can be identified, assessed, monitored and controlled and mitigated where relevant.
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining external relationships, including some experience of interfacing with regulators.
  • Proven ability to develop strong networks with key stakeholders at all points in a matrix structure.
  • Thorough ability to provide expert advice and robust challenge, delivering risk management policies and managing risks and controls.
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant regulatory landscape and ability to assess the impact of proposed changes in regulatory rules to the bank.
  • Ability to present complex technical concepts and results to non-technical audiences in a persuasive and compelling manner.

This role is based in London on a hybrid working basis.
