About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious GL Accountant to join our European accounting team and provide support to the accounting department by managing daily accounting tasks. Preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and filing of periodic statutory returns will be the core part of this role. The successful candidate will also be a part of a new ERP implementation (Oracle Fusion) slated for 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the month end close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all financial reporting activities.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure the integrity of financial results.
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure all accounting transactions are captured correctly.
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled and all supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support as required.
  • Work closely with HR and our payroll provider to ensure payroll entries are timely, accurate, and in line with company policies.
  • Prepare accounting transactions for multiple regions, ensuring adherence to both local accounting standards and global company policies.
  • Proactively recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit periodic VAT, VIES, Intrastat and CSO returns.
  • Comfortable working in a global matrix organization with the ability to build and leverage networks within an organization.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Oracle, would be an advantage.
  • Must be willing to travel to the office on a hybrid basis as required.
  • Enthusiastic, committed self starter with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Strong organisational and analytical capabilities with attention to detail, high levels of integrity, and professionalism at all times, with a proven ability to multi task.
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a global team.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Knowledge of maintaining Local and US GAAP accounting ledger.
