Job Description
Engineering Geologist / Geo-environmental or Geotechnical Engineer

The Role
An established geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy is seeking an engineer with strong technical and commercial skills to support the management and development of its site investigation and consultancy services.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected practice with the potential for progression to a more senior role. The position offers ongoing professional development and a competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist in the technical delivery of projects, including preparing estimates for site investigations and supervising ground remediation works.
  • Supervise site investigation activities and ground remediation operations.
  • Produce factual and interpretative site investigation reports, including summarising recommendations for foundation design and ground remediation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in geotechnical or geo-environmental contracting or consultancy.
  • BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology, or a BSc in Geology with a suitable MSc.
  • A relevant postgraduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
  • Working towards chartership with ICE, IOM3, the Geological Society, or an equivalent body.
  • Knowledge of relevant UK standards.
  • Good understanding of environmental engineering/science, including contaminated land remediation.
  • Experience in landfill design is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
