Geography Teacher

Location: Hackney

Salary: £185 - £265 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Long Term until July 2026

GSL Education's London Branch is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver engaging Geography lessons and support students' academic progress in a supportive and inclusive environment.

About the Role

As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons and maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the permanent teacher. You will play a key role in inspiring students and promoting a love for Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Accountabilities of the Role
  • Ensure all students reach their full potential through high-quality teaching.
  • Build positive relationships and maintain high standards of behaviour.
  • Track and monitor student progress effectively.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Geography education.
  • Work collaboratively with the Geography Subject Leader to support curriculum delivery.
  • Contribute to school policies and promote equality and inclusion.
  • Support the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and the wider community.
  • Help develop and enhance the Geography provision within the school.
  • Maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
  • Carry out additional duties as reasonably required by senior staff.
Requirements for Geography Teacher
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Geography up to Key Stage 4.
  • Strong classroom management and subject knowledge.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
