General Practitioner - Park House Surgery

Park House Surgery, Prestatyn, is a growing GMS practice serving over 9,000 patients on the North Wales coast, located at Park House with a branch in Westfield, Rhyl. The practice has 2 GP partners, excellent ANP, nursing and support staff, and provides training for medical students from Bangor, Swansea and Cardiff. We have a vacancy for a salaried GP (3 sessions per week) on a 12 month fixed term contract. Newly qualified GPs are welcome to apply.

Main duties

• Deliver highly effective medical care to the patient population
• Provide services in line with the primary care contract
• Prescribe medicines according to local and national guidance
• Manage long term conditions effectively
• Process administrative tasks (referrals, repeat prescriptions, etc.) promptly
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to guidance and policy
• Share equally in the practice workload in a collaborative fashion
• Follow best practice guidelines and take part in audit processes
• Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
• Take delegated responsibility for specific practice areas
• Attend and contribute to practice meetings
• Support development and maintenance of clinical governance and training
• Ensure compliance with appraisal and revalidation processes
• Pursue self learning and foster continuous professional development across the team
• Support the training of medical students
• Assist partners in achieving strategic aims, advise on income and expenditure improvements
• Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through team collaboration
• Accept informal enquiries and spot visits as required

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor
• Qualified GP

Experience

• Completed GP training
• Experience working in primary care
