Here at GXO, we're currently looking for a General Manager to lead our warehouse operation in Peterborough. You'll lead an established, settled, and experienced team and be responsible for ensuring the operational and commercial success of the operation.

This is a full-time, permanent role. Although your contract will be for Monday - Friday, this is a 24/7 operation, so flexibility in working hours is required - no two weeks are the same, as is typical in logistics!

Pay, benefits, and more:

You'll be paid a salary of up to £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. You'll also receive 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), with options to buy additional days for a better work-life balance. What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Manage budgets, ensuring KPIs and contract targets are met, and contribute to quarterly cost budgets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the customer through regular reviews.
  • Design and implement reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach, and develop your team; oversee all HR processes during employment.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Proven experience in a senior management role within a high-profile environment.
  • Understanding of commercial mechanisms and P&L management, with success in delivering costs and KPIs.
  • Experience building strong business relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of legal and audit compliance requirements for large distribution centers.
